The Gunners have completed their first summer signing.

Arsenal have completed their first signing under Unai Emery with the arrival of Swiss international Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Lichtsteiner decided to join the English giants, after running down his contract with Juventus.
The Turin club let the veteran leave for free, despite of having a reputation for signing players for free instead of selling.
Lichtsteiner won the Serie A title in each of his seven seasons with Juventus and picked up a handful of domestic trophies throughout his journey.
The Swiss will now start a new chapter with the London outfit.

Lichtsteiner will wear the number 12 shirt and is expected to compete with Hector Bellerin for the right back position.

Arsenal’s newly appointed manager Unai Emery seemed very happy to talk about his first signing.

Unai Emery said: “Stephan brings huge experience and leadership to our squad.

He’s a player with great quality with a very positive and determined attitude. Stephan will improve us on and off the pitch.”

The 34 year old will mostly be used as a squad player cum mentor for The Gunners.
