Unai Emery admits the pressure is on to get 3 points against West ham United

Arsenal have lost both of their opening Premier League fixtures

Arsenal had a very busy summer as Unai Emery was appointed as the new manager of the club after Arsene Wenger decided to leave the club after 22 years. The Spaniard signed a three-year deal worth £15 million.

He was given the charge with the task of rebuilding the squad and returning the club to the European elite while challenging for other major honours, after they finished sixt in the Premier League last season resulting in missing the Champions League this season.

The Gunners have made 5 new additions this summer: Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient, Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund and Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus.

However, the Premier League giants haven’t got off to a great start as they have begun life under the Spaniard with back-to-back defeats in the Premier League against their big rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.

The London outfit will face West Ham United in their upcoming Premier League game and Emery has admitted that the pressure is on to get the 3 points as they are still looking for their first points.

“After the first two matches, we have two defeats and we need to win this match against West Ham,” said the Spaniard as quoted by Express Sport.

“The difficulty is in this game because West Ham are a good team with good players and a good coach. They know the Premier League very well and they have a lot of new players.

“We are thinking in our way and about our work to create our ideas and our system on Saturday with our supporters at the Emirates.

“I think it’s very important to show them a better performance than in the two first matches. We are preparing well, I am feeling well when I look at the players in training every day.”
