Reports in the past have linked Nicolas Tagliafico with a potential move to Arsenal, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Gunners were thought to be interested in the 26-year-old as a potential replacement for the veteran Nacho Monreal. However, he told El Mundo Deportivo that he is content with life at Ajax.
Taglaifico was quoted while on international duty with Argentina, “I am enjoying life and football. We are privileged as footballers.
“Our work is something fascinating and something we love to do. I enjoy playing for the national team and my club. I can’t think of what’s coming, that’s disrespectful to my club.
“It’s great that they talk about me because that means things are going well. But I can only focus on the present. Friday we [Argentina] have to beat Venezuela and that’s what counts.”
Tagliafico has played a crucial role in overthrowing Real Madrid out of the Champions League this month. He is looking to make yet another upset by facing off against Juventus in the quarterfinals.
He further added, “You know how you play. If you go on the field, you know what you have to do and how the team is going to play.
“Sometimes it goes well and sometimes it doesn’t, but we have clear ideas. We go into the match with Juventus with the same philosophy we had against Real Madrid. We must stop [Cristiano] Ronaldo as a team.”
