Arsenal are looking to send Edward Nketiah out on loan to FC Augsburg for the remainder of the season.
Reports have emerged that the 19-year-old’s teammate, Emile Smith-Rowe is already in RB Leipzig undergoing his medical. The Gunners are looking to develop the players further and are following the trend of sending their best prospects to the Bundesliga.
First team opportunities are highly limited with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the Arsenal lineup. The Gunners also have an injured Danny Welbeck in their squad.
It was under Arsene Wenger, Nketiah got to make his debut appearance for the Arsenal senior side, coming on as an 89th-minute substitute in a Europa League fixture against BATE Borisov.
Since then the striker has made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season and a couple in the Europa League. Otherwise, he has appeared 8 times for the Arsenal U23 side, scoring 6 goals in the Premier League 2.
Nketiah is highly valued by the Arsenal hierarchy who plan on keeping him for a long time. They have already found success in sending Reiss Nelson to the German top-flight.
The latter has record 7 goals in 21 appearances for TSG Hoffenheim this season.
