One of Arsenal’s top transfer targets this summer, Ryan Fraser has been noticed frolicking in London as rumours continue to rise about his switch from AFC Bournemouth to the Emirates.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a £25m move for the Scotsman, who has been coveted by former Gunner, Jack Wilshere himself.
Fraser was seen in London this week through his social media account which led to Arsenal fans speculating that a move is near. Unai Emery is still thought to be running a few of his other leads but given his transfer budget, this transfer would make the most sense.
Let’s face the truth. With Wilfried Zaha valued at £80m, Arsenal simply cannot afford him even if Crystal Palace agree to let him walk for half that fee.
Emery only has around £45m to make signings this summer and defensive reinforcements are of far importance than attackers. Plus, he is having trouble moving Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan out of the squad, which is blocking all other potential avenues of adding outright stars.
The accumulated wage bill at the Emirates is reportedly causing greater issues rather than missing out on Champions League football next season.
Fraser seems to be a budget option but he has tools which could go along perfectly in Emery’s setup. Shelling out £25m could end up being a bargain in a couple of seasons.
