Arsenal are believed to eventually reach an agreement with Celtic for the transfer of Kieran Tierney, according to broadcaster, Mark Donaldson.
So far, the Gunners have unable to convince the Scottish Premiership side in parting ways with the left-back. The Hoops are hoping for a higher fee after rejecting the first bid.
“I think it’s a case of a fee will be agreed, whatever it is,” Donaldson said on talkSPORT.
“I think Celtic have done well here because they haven’t accepted the first bid. I think they’ve seen what’s happened with Virgil van Dijk and players like that who they’ve had, and Victor Wanyama, who have gone on.
“Why should a player like Virgil van Dijk be worth so much more after he’s been at Southampton? Well, the answer is because he’s proved himself in the Premier League.
“But now they’re saying ‘wait a minute here, that’s a big jump in what he is worth and what he is now’ and when you see what Andrew Robertson has done.
“I think Kieran Tierney isn’t as good as Andrew Robertson, I think he’s an excellent left full-back.
“It’s just so typically Scottish that our two best players are competing for the one position. I think what he will do at Arsenal if they play him as a four I think he’s good defensively and he’ll get forward, because he’s not had to do much defending at Celtic.
“But he’d make a good wing-back because he is a good defender, he’s just a really good player. I want all Scottish players playing at the highest level, the more players we’ve got playing in the Premier League the better.”
