The Brazilian attacker has experienced a challenging campaign at the Emirates Stadium, finding himself increasingly on the periphery of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Martinelli was notably absent from the matchday squads for recent fixtures against Manchester City and Coventry City, signalling his diminished role in the squad.

The 25-year-old forward had previously rejected an approach from Turkish giants Galatasaray earlier this month.

However, reports suggest Martinelli is now giving serious consideration to a potential move to the Saudi Arabian club in the coming days.

The Gunners have placed a £60 million price tag on the former Ituano star, though the North London club have yet to accept Al-Hilal’s opening proposal.

Negotiations remain ongoing between the two clubs, with no agreement currently in place for the Brazilian’s transfer.

Arsenal appear determined to secure a fee that reflects Martinelli’s true worth.

Last season, the winger played second fiddle to Leandro Trossard in Premier League action, managing only five goal contributions in England’s top flight.

However, his performances in European competition told a different story, with 13 goal involvements overall and eight of those coming during the Champions League group phase.

The forward’s contract situation adds another layer to the negotiations. While his current deal expires in June next year, Arsenal possess an option to extend for a further 12 months.

Al-Hilal recently demonstrated their willingness to spend big, parting with £55 million plus an additional £5 million in add-ons to prise Crysencio Summerville away from West Ham United earlier this summer.

Arsenal will likely reference this deal when determining Martinelli’s value, with the Brazilian’s proven track record arguably warranting a similar or higher fee.

Despite his reduced squad status and contract situation, the Gunners should maintain their stance on the £60 million valuation as talks with the Saudi club continue.
