Premier League and England legend Alan Shearer has praised Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac for his performance against Southampton yesterday. Unai Emery’s boys returned to the top four of the Premier League table after beating Southampton.

Kolasinac who made his 21st appearances for Arsenal, put on an impressive as goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Henrikh Mkhitaryan helped the Gunners to a 2-0 win.

Shearer said of Kolasinac, “He [Kolasinac] had an excellent game in that left-back role. He was everything good about Arsenal, offering them width and pace going forward. He was the first to react a lot of the time, and he was driving the ball forward, give-and-goes and so much energy and that didn’t change for the whole game.

He played that left-back role and look at how impressive he is in getting forward.

He got into good positions and he was a constant threat, and he did his bit defensively as well. I thought he was superb.”

After beating Southampton, Arsenal next play Bournemouth on Wednesday.
