Arsenal’s former midfield maestro, Alex Hleb, is advocating for a reunion between the Gunners and Russian dynamo Aleksandr Golovin.
Hleb, drawing parallels between their playing styles, believes Golovin’s flair and finesse make him an ideal fit for Arsenal’s midfield.
The Monaco playmaker, who has flourished with five goals and seven assists this season, has caught the eye of several English clubs, including Newcastle United, West Ham, and Everton.
Alex Hleb urges Monaco star Aleksandr Golovin to join Arsenal
“I know that Aleksandr has become one of the leaders of Monaco and plays good football. I liked him before; fast, creative, sees the field well,” stated Helb
“Every footballer wants to reach a higher level. I think that Aleksandr himself will decide where to move.
“If you want to grow, you must move forward. Monaco are a good European team, but they are not at the top.
If there are offers from top clubs, then it’s time to move on and set higher goals for yourself. But you need to approach this wisely; go where the system suits your style.
“We need a team that plays beautiful combination football. And the main thing is that the coach wants to see you on the team and trusts you. We need to weigh up everything.
“Golovin would fit well into these teams, Barca and Arsenal football suits him.”
However, Hleb insists that Arsenal, with its rich tradition of nurturing creative talents, presents the perfect platform for Golovin to showcase his skills.
Despite the competition in Mikel Arteta’s squad, including talents like Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe, Hleb remains optimistic about Golovin’s potential impact.
As speculation mounts over Golovin’s future, all eyes are on whether Arsenal will heed Hleb’s advice and make a move for the gifted Russian midfielder.
