Alex Iwobi has revealed the biggest difference between Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery after playing under both over the past two seasons.
Arsenal were led by the legendary French manager for 22 years under whom Iwobi made a breakthrough into the club’s senior side. Emery took charge of the North London outfit last year and the club has already gathered more points than they did in the previous two seasons.
Iwobi said, “There is a lot more fight in us this season. There is a lot more intensity. So even though it’s been up and down this season, there are a lot more pros than maybe the previous one.”
The 22-year-old midfielder also defended his teammate, Mesut Ozil who is often criticised by fans and the media.
“Mesut is a great player and he also works hard off the ball.” Iwobi told The Sun. “Fans sometimes don’t appreciate what he gives to the team.
“I don’t know the stats but with Mesut in the team you are always going to get at least three chances a game from him.”
Arsenal are due to face off against Watford on Monday night while they have gained a 2-goal advantage over Napoli in the Europa League Quarterfinals.
