Alexandre Lacazette and his representatives have responded to rumours of him signing with Atletico Madrid.
Several news outlets have claimed that the Frenchman is set to bid goodbye to the Emirates this summer among a host of other players.
He was even claimed to have contacted Antoine Griezmann, asking about Atletico Madrid. One can judge for themselves how much weight these rumours really carried. News channels are scampering to come up with the next juicy topic to draw in viewers without a scent of credibility. Sure, that is always the case prior to the transfer windows but for some reason, the rumours have surged to unforeseen levels during the worldwide health crisis.
The rumour in question read (via Onefootball) – “Alexandre Lacazette is said to have called Antoine Griezmann to request information on Atletico Madrid. Indeed, the Barcelona player remains close with the Atleti dressing room and is always in contract with close friend Koke.”
Lacazette has endured a poor season in front of the goal for Arsenal this season. That has led to talks of him possibly making a North London exit after the campaign. However, it is hard to believe these stories when every business out there, including news agencies have come to a grounding halt.
Score Agencies posted an emphatic response, writing, “Twitter is magic! It’s not nice to lie to the fans of Atleti.”
Alexandre Lacazette then added his endorsement to his agency’s response, “Not nice at all.”
