Arsenal advised to complete two transfers this January

Arsenal could make a few signings in the January window.

The Premier League restarts on the Boxing Day and two games will be played before the winter window opens.

The Gunners are now currently leading the Premier League table and are five points clear of champions Manchester City.

Spurs legend Glen Hoddle believes Arsenal will make a few signings in January to solidify their position.

Hoddle told football.london: “They are there because they’re there on merit Arsenal. I saw the fixtures and speaking to someone in my family, an Arsenal fan, I said to him they’d be top of the league after eight games, because the fixtures looked favourable.

“I was working a few years ago with [Ian] Wrighty and I said ‘give it three years and Arsenal might be ready to win a title’. I thought it would take three years. They were so vulnerable defensively, but they’re way ahead of where I thought they would be.

“They’ve got to be contenders, they’re top of the league and the league is very open. I think they should and will do [go out and make a statement signing]. It’s tough in January, it would be worthwhile going for it, they’re in a strong position and think it’s worthwhile going for a couple [of signings] probably.”
