Christian Norgaard is a midfielder who Arsenal has agreed to a deal with Brentford to sign. He may be the Gunners’ first summer transfer window addition, but two more are on the horizon.

Thomas Partey, who is departing Arsenal when his contract expires on June 30, is expected to be replaced by the 31-year-old Danish international. To replace Partey, Mikel Arteta was eager to add a midfield player with Premier League experience, and Norgaard’s acquisition is now all but certain.

Reputable writer Fabrizio Romano claims that after submitting a proposal of €11 million (£9.3 million or $12.8 million), Arsenal has now achieved an agreement with Brentford.

“Here we go, Christian Nørgaard to Arsenal! After receiving an €11 million proposal today, a club-to-club agreement was reached,” Romano said on X. Nørgaard’s personal terms were also decided upon, and Brentford has given the player permission to go for his medical. Thomas [Partey] will be replaced with a new midfield player.

The signing of the 31-year-old Bees captain still requires some effort, but everything is moving in the right direction in the days ahead.

There shouldn’t be any problems with personal issues because the Denmark international wants to transfer to the Emirates Stadium. Given that Thomas Partey’s contract at Arsenal is about to expire, the Gunners are showing interest in the Brentford captain.

According to current plans, the Ghanaian international will depart the Gunners next week when his contract expires. Clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia have contacted the 32-year-old’s representatives. Norgaard’s six-year tenure at Brentford would come to an end if he were to sign with Arsenal.

In May 2019, he moved to the west London club from Fiorentina, an Italian team, and played a crucial role in Brentford’s promotion to the Premier League. Under Bees manager Thomas Frank, who departed earlier this month to take over as head coach of Tottenham following seven successful years at Brentford, Norgaard had a significant impact.
