Benjamin Sesko and Arsenal have agreed on personal terms as they get closer to signing the RB Leipzig star in their pursuit of a new striker.
Sesko, 22, is one of the Gunners’ main attacking targets as they look to add a new No. 9 this summer in an attempt to reclaim the Premier League championship. Additionally, Arsenal has taken into account other players prior to the transfer window, even though Sesko is anticipated to depart Leipzig this summer.
Arsenal also likes 27-year-old Viktor Gyokeres, although negotiations for a trade with the Sporting Lisbon star are reportedly “on ice” at the moment. As a deal draws nearer, German publication Sport Bild has now asserted that Arsenal and Sesko have reached an agreement.
There is still no agreement between Arsenal and Leipzig, despite the fact that Sesko and the club may now have an understanding.
Leipzig and Arsenal still need to agree on a price, but it has been stated that Arsenal has told the Bundesliga team that they will submit an offer that meets or exceeds their demands. The precise price will be disclosed in the next few days, but BILD predicts the bid will be between £68.5 million and £85.5 million.
There is increasing confidence that a complete agreement will be reached and that Arsenal can finalize a deal for Sesko before next month’s preseason. The Gunners have so far announced three friendlies, including games against Tottenham in Hong Kong and AC Milan and Newcastle United in Singapore.
After a successful 18-month loan with FC Liefering, a team in the Austrian second division, Šeško got his first professional deal at Red Bull Salzburg, where he made his reputation. Arsenal now seems to have made their move for the gifted forward, but Chelsea and Manchester United have also shown interest in Sesko.
