According to the latest reports, Arsenal are going up against Juventus for the signing of Red Bull Salzburg youngster, Dominik Szoboszlai.
The 18-year-old currently plays for the Austrian outfit’s feeder club, Leifring and has racked up 8 goals and 5 assists in 15 appearances this season. He is touted to be a valuable talent with a lot of potential in Europe’s top leagues.
The report claims that Salzburg would demand around €10m for the central midfielder when they paid only €500,000 for him. When asked about the teenager, Juventus director, Fabio Paratici said, “Szoboszlai? A talented boy, but we would need to find a Serie A team that would let him play many games.”
This is a clear indication that Szoboszlai is being scouted by the Serie A champions. The midfielder is highly versatile on the pitch and can appear from both wing and central locations.
He has the creative boots to make his team’s attack tick. He also has 6 caps for the Hungary U21 side and 3 for the U19s.
Speculations have been going on for months regarding the future of Mesut Ozil with Arsenal. Unai Emery continues to ignore the German’s talents in the Gunners starting lineup. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also a concern due to his poor form and injury history.
With Aaron Ramsey destined to end up in Juventus next season and Denis Suarez expected to return back to Barcelona after this term, Emery could be in a tough spot ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
