One of them is Arsenal, who have been known to be in the market for a left-footed centre-half.
The Gunners did address that cause by signing Pablo Mari from Flamengo in January. The 26-year-old arrived on a six-month loan with an option to buy him out permanently next summer. At around £10m, Mari was a relatively low risk signing but not a guaranteed hit.
That means Arsenal will need to lineup replacements around the same transfer fee ahead of the following season. Blind nearly joined the North London side when he was still an youngster. He was offered a contract but the defender turned it down to remain at Ajax.
The 29-year-old returned to action this week after his heart surgery. His team is due to face Getafe in the Europa League after dropping down from the Champions League. Blind does have Premier League experience from his time with Manchester United. Nobody expected Arsenal to be interested in him at this point of his career.
Blind is very dependable figure and versatile with his positioning. The Dutch international can appear as a centre-back, left-back or even at midfield. Is he the jack of all trades that Arsenal need right now?
