In the upcoming weeks, Arsenal will continue to try to bolster their offense after acquiring Noni Madueke from Chelsea. Last season, despite a number of strong performances under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal lost both the cup and the title fight, in part because of their up-front attempts.
After acquiring Noni Madueke during the summer transfer window, Arsenal now looks to Xavi Simons for the upcoming campaign. According to several sources, Arsenal is keeping an eye on Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig. After asking about the prospect of a trade earlier in the summer, Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the Gunners are keeping an eye on the Netherlands international.
Simons is reportedly in favor of a move to the Premier League and is eager to leave Leipzig during the summer window. Arsenal will have competition if they pursue a deal because Chelsea is reportedly interested in the youngster as well.
Chelsea and Arsenal consider €65m transfer battle
Arsenal has its eye on Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze and wants to add another innovative player. The Dutch international, who would fetch a price tag of about €65 million (£56 million) plus add-ons, has long been admired by Chelsea.
There’s an outside chance depending on what the ultimate price is & this is more left-field, but Xavi Simons is one that Arsenal really likes, Journalist Ben Jacobs stated, while also confirming Chelsea’s interest.
The player is highly keen on a move to the Premier League. The difficulty is that it was a sophisticated transaction that saw him move to Leipzig; the total outlay was €80m & the guaranteed amount was €50m, but if he quits so soon, a lot of those add-ons would not be paid.
There’s a window of possibility, so I would keep a modest eye on Arsenal, but I don’t want to get anyone overexcited unduly.
