Micah Richards pushed Mikel Arteta to take Gabriel Martinelli’s position and offered his opinion on Viktor Gyokeres, the high-profile acquisition for Arsenal.

Arsenal paid £64 million to get the Sweden international from Sporting because they believe he will help them with their goal-scoring issues. Gyokeres will be a very good signing for Arsenal, according to Richards, despite the fact that the 27-year-old attacker still has some question marks.

After completing a trade for Gyokeres, Arsenal has focused on acquiring a new left-winger, and Richards is in favor of that move, saying Martinelli should now be considered an impact player rather than a starter in Arteta’s team.

Richards maintains that it would be an amazing addition if the Gunners were to acquire Crystal Palace’s England forward Eberechi Eze.

The possibility of Martinelli and Leandro Trossard moving would grow with the addition of another forward, especially a left-winger, given both players were strongly linked to a summer transfer earlier in the transfer window.

Mikel Arteta to replace £50m Arsenal star

Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli didn’t do much to increase optimism that the Gunners’ left-hand side will improve in the upcoming campaign. Reiss Nelson’s ability to get more praise for his performances during his two substitute outings than the two players in his position is a warning sign in and of itself.

Given that his left foot is inherently stronger, Madueke may be more successful on the left wing. Being able to drive down the wing more easily before supplying Viktor Gyokeres, the new center striker, with crosses and cutbacks is alluring.

This is a little contentious. It appears that Martinelli has reached his limit. He had a fantastic 2022–2023 season with 15 Premier League goals, but he hasn’t reached such levels since.

It’s unfortunate since he might have been among Europe’s top wingers. We’re more doubtful now, but he can still be. To assist in financing a suitable overhaul on the left wing, the Brazilian might command a high price.
