Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling are reportedly on Arsenal’s radar.
Mikel Arteta is eagerly looking at top attacking talents to add to his squad and both fit the bill.
There have previously been rumours of Mahrez being unhappy at City due to a lack of regular involvement. However, he is coming off a rewarding season under Pep Guardiola, winning the Premier League title and helping City reach the Champions League final.
Sterling seems to have hit a plateu in his development and just underwent one of his worst seasons in the top-flight. He still managed to make it into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Euros and is currently playing a starting role.
Arsenal have drawn links to plenty of players in recent weeks. Starting from defenders all the way to the pinnacle of their attack. Arteta clearly has laid down an ambitious plan after missing out on European football last term. Bringing in proven players who will bring immediate result seems to be the priority.
But both Sterling and Mahrez reportedly want to remain at the Etihad. Plus, it will be difficult for Arsenal to convince them into signing without Champions League football.
