Arsenal are preparing to submit an £80 million offer for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to reports, as the Gunners look to strengthen their title-winning squad.

Arsenal Go All-In: £80M Bid on the Way for Midfield Maestro Who Wants Out

The North London club have already seen an initial £55 million bid rejected by the Magpies, but they are now set to return with an improved proposal that could test Newcastle’s resolve.

The Brazilian international has informed Newcastle that he has no intention of signing a contract extension, with his current deal now entering its final two years.

This development has given Arsenal renewed confidence in their pursuit of the 28-year-old, who has been described as a “brilliant” performer in the Premier League.

Manager Mikel Arteta views Guimaraes as a key addition to his midfield ranks, and the player’s contract situation means Newcastle may be forced to consider a sale this summer to maximise his transfer value.

The potential departure of Sandro Tonali could also influence Newcastle’s decision-making process.

The Italian midfielder is attracting significant interest, with Tottenham leading the race for his signature at a reported £100 million valuation.

Should Tonali leave St James’ Park, Newcastle might feel less pressure to keep Guimaraes, potentially opening the door for Arsenal to complete their move.

This has accelerated Arsenal’s efforts in recent days as they aim to secure their top target before their rivals can act.

The Gunners have already begun building for next season, with a move for Leicester wonderkid Jeremy Monga appearing close to completion. Talks have also been held for Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis as a squad option.

However, Guimaraes represents a statement signing that would immediately improve Arteta’s starting lineup.

Arsenal are now pushing hard to get a deal done, with the £80 million bid expected to arrive soon as they look to strengthen their Premier League title defence.
