Mikel Arteta’s squad leads the Premier League, but Arsenal will need to trade at least one first-team player this summer as the team deals with its large expenditure from the previous season.

Arsenal paid £268 million in fees alone at the conclusion of their most recent fiscal year; therefore, it is known that there are talks about who would make the most money and whether more than one player could need to leave.

Ben White and Gabriel Martinelli are good contenders to go. Given his current low book value, Martinelli, who was purchased in 2019 for £7 million, may be able to make a sizeable profit. White, who was purchased in 2021 for a larger sum of £50 million, is in the same boat.

Another player with two years left on his contract as of this summer is forward Kai Havertz; the team must decide whether to renew his contract or not. By the end of this season, forwards Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard will have just one year left on their contracts.

Arsenal know three stars could be sold

Arsenal are anticipated to trade at least one first-team player following significant expenditure on their title challenge last summer. The club’s failure to regularly make a sizeable profit from player transactions has long been a problem, according to The Telegraph.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35 million transfer to Liverpool nine years ago is still their biggest sale. Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are reportedly being considered as possible exits to generate money before the summer. Leandro Trossard is the favoured first-choice option on the left, while Martinelli, who has been a dependable player for Arteta in recent seasons, has been deployed from the bench this season. The Brazilian star joined the Emirates in 2019 and has one year remaining on his deal.

After sustaining a severe cruciate ligament injury the previous year, Jesus returned in December, although his participation has been minimal. He hasn’t featured in Arsenal’s previous three games, sitting on the bench against Tottenham, Chelsea, and Brighton, and has only started two league games since his return. This weekend, the north Londoners will face Everton at 5:30 p.m. to continue their pursuit of the Premier League crown.
