Prior to Youri Tielemans’ contract at Leicester City’s King Power stadium expiring this summer, Arsenal is said to be the favourite to sign him
According to Football Insider, while Leicester hasn’t given up on trying to convince the Belgian international to stay longer, all indications are that he will go in the summer. Arsenal reportedly declined to rule out the idea of signing Tielemans when he becomes a free agent because they were unwilling to pay a transfer price.
The midfielder has been playing for the Foxes since 2019 and has produced over 50 goal-related contributions in 186 Premier League games for Leicester. A number of clubs, including two from England, are vying for his signing as his stint at Leicester comes to an end.
Arsenal are the front-runners for Tielemans, according to Football Insider, as the 25-year-old will enable the team to add another midfielder for nothing.
According to the report, Newcastle and Barcelona are also preparing attempts to sign the Belgian star, making the summer transfer window an intriguing one to follow.
Since Tielemans is one of the Premier League’s most skilled midfielders, many clubs should be interested in the opportunity to sign him for nothing.
