According to reports, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal is prepared to compete for the services of Oliwier Zych, a 20-year-old Aston Villa young star. Oliwier Zych’s outstanding youth performances for Aston Villa have earned him a reputation, and there appears to be a high demand for his services. As they seek to increase depth in the goalkeeping position, Arsenal is reportedly among the teams interested in signing the Polish goalie, according to a report from The Daily Telegraph.
From 2020 forward, Zych has only become better since joining Aston Villa’s youth ranks. He has consistently performed well for their Under-21 squad and helped them win the Football League Trophy.
Although the young player has not yet made his first-team debut for Unai Emery’s team, he was included in the squad for their two Champions League matches against Young Boys and Bayern Munich. During his season-long loan with Puszcza Niepolomice in his home country of Poland, Zych played 26 games and recorded seven clean sheets. Despite signing 35-year-old Neto from Bournemouth at the close of the summer transfer window, Arsenal is still searching for a long-term backup for David Raya.
Zych’s age would require Brighton or Arsenal to pay a compensation fee if they were to agree to a deal for his free transfer. Usually far less than what a transfer fee would have been, the fee would be decided by a tribunal.
