Arsenal will make a statement by signing Declan Rice this summer.
The Gunners are ready to beat Man United in signing Declan Rice as Mikel Arteta considers the England international his top signing.
They are currently favourites to land the 24-year-old midfielder and will rivals clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea for his signature.
Declan Rice has rejected a number of contract renewal offers from the Hammers in order to facilitate a move away this summer.
He expressed his desire to play in a Champions League winning squad and he could easily fit into Arteta’s XI.
West Ham have gone from a Europa League final last term to a relegation battle this season.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their midfield this coming summer and Rice is right on the top of Arteta’s wishlist.
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Arsenal’s pursuit of Declan Rice.
He tells Football Insider: “I think Rice would a better option than Caicedo.
“He’d add more steel into that squad. He could be Arsenal’s Rodri.
“Jorginho isn’t long-term, so I think Rice would be a great, mega-money signing.
“It would be a statement to every other club in world football. They can put a marker down, letting everyone know that they can get the big players, letting everyone know that they are back.”
