The Star reports that West Ham United are not alone in the race for the attacking midfielder.
He arrived on loan from Manchester United in January and has hit the best form of his career. The 28-year-old has collected six goals and four assists in just 8 league appearances, helping West Ham to inch closer to one of the Champions League spots.
Lingard only have one more season left on his contract with Manchester United. This makes negotiations tough for Ole Solskjaer. Unless, the midfielder returns to Old Trafford for good, clubs will be lining up to sign him. West Ham are favourites but Arsenal could offer a more lucrative deal.
Lingard even fought his way back into the England squad after last appearing for them in 2018. He even got on the scoresheet for the recent World Cup qualifiers against San Marino, Albania and Poland. His resurgent form has raised his transfer value from £10m to £30m.
Mikel Arteta is looking to sign a number ten next summer. If Martin Odegaard’s services are not aquired on a permanent basis, it is likely that the Gunners will move for other targets. This is also not the first time they have drawn links to Lingard. Even under Unai Emery, they were strong candidates to land him ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
