Arsenal have confirmed the shirt number of newly-signed Raheem Sterling who made the loan move from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The former Man City star was not regular under the new manager at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old made the deadline-day move to Arsenal and can find regular time under Mikel Arteta. Arsenal boss worked with Sterling at Manchester City and extended an olive branch to his former attacking colleague.
The North London club managed to submit a deal sheet before the 11pm transfer deadline on August 30. He spent last season as number seven for Pochettino.
Arsenal has confirmed that Sterling will wear number 30 for the season 2024-25. Former goalkeeper Matt Turner was the last man who donned this number. Sterling didn’t feature in Premier League clash against Brighton but he will soon make a debut after international break.
Sterling also missed out from England’s squad for UEFA Nations League which is starting from this weekend. The Chelsea loanee will be in action for the North London derby clash against Tottenham next weekend.
