Niko Kovac has reportedly thrown in his name for the managerial position at Arsenal.
After getting fired by Bayern Munich, the Croatian coach has contacted the Gunners about the vacant spot.
It has been two weeks since Unai Emery got fired and Arsenal have still not shaken off their winless streak. Freddie Ljungberg has led the team to a draw and a defeat in his first two games in charge.
Josh Kroenke has notified Arsenal fans that a search is underway for the next manager and they are looking to hire the right person this time. Plenty of names have been linked with the Emirates position even while Emery was in charge. Massimiliano Allegri, Mauricio Pochettino, Nuno Santo and Mikel Arteta are all top candidates.
Kovac is expected to attend Arsenal’s next game against West Ham United although, he claims to be visiting England only to take a break. He is highly eager to manage the Gunners and is available right now.
The 48-year-old racked up a win percentage of 69% with Bayern Munich and led them to three trophies in his debut season. After a series of bad results this season, he was sacked.
There is no telling if he is being considered for the Arsenal job but the board might be ready to interview anyone and anybody right now.
