Arsenal have looked at the possibility of signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton

Before the transfer deadline, both Chelsea and Arsenal are thinking about making an attempt to buy Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a forward for Everton. In the event that Brentford striker Ivan Toney or Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is not signed by Chelsea, Calvert-Lewin has surfaced as a possible backup. Due to competing interest in the attacker from the Saudi Pro League, Chelsea has been unable to meet Osimhen’s salary demands. Toney is also being pursued by Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia, who have agreed to pay £40 million for the 28-year-old.

Calvert-Lewin is a potential replacement for the pair, according to Football Transfers, as Enzo Maresca aims to sign a center-forward before the transfer window closes. With less than a year left on his Everton deal, the 27-year-old might be available for a steep discount. According to reports, Everton is interested in signing Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana, which would open the door for a last-minute Calvert-Lewin raid.

Arsenal also monitoring Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin is reportedly being observed by Arsenal as well. With just four goals in 11 matches for England, the attacker has struggled with injury in previous campaigns. But at the end of the 2023–2024 Premier League season, he began to play at his best, finishing the campaign with seven goals in 33 league games for the Toffees. As a center-forward, Calvert-Lewin might provide Arsenal with a more reliable option than Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

Following earlier rumors that Everton would seek about £40 million, Arsenal could reportedly make a bid for Calvert-Lewin before 11 p.m. Despite his concerning injury history, there’s no denying that the 27-year-old would be a valuable addition to any elite English team when healthy.
