Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi is interested in signing Mustafi.
Shkodran Mustafi could be the next player to leave Emirates after the £20m departure of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez last week.
The German defender suffered criticism in his recent seasons at the club and was close to leaving the Emirates last summer.
He suffered a hamstring injury in July and is yet to return to the first-team training.
Italian outlet Corriere Della Sera believes Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi is interested in signing the German defender.
Selling him would definitely boost Arsenal’s budget in trying to secure further targets such as Lyon star Houssem Aouar and Atletico Madrid ace Thomas Partey.
Arteta was happy with the performances of regular midfielders Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos but admitted he is still considering adding a fewing players in that area.
“I think they’ve been really good since I joined the club,” Arteta said.
“Not only then but also this season, [Ceballos] deserved to play again today but I just wanted to rotate.
“I thought it was a game where we were going to attack the spaces and the way they defended, we wanted to create some situations with Dani there but if we can strengthen the team then we’re going to try and do that.
“Until the market is gone, everything is still open.
“Depending on what happens with some other players… as I say again, we are open to discussions, the market can surprise us.”
