Arsenal eyes Premier League swap deal using Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale could be heading for a new chapter, with the Gunners exploring a swap deal involving Wolves’ goalkeeper Dan Bentley.

Ramsdale, who has struggled for game time after losing his No.1 spot to David Raya, is keen to secure regular first-team action.

Since December, the 26-year-old England international has only made one Premier League start, making a move away from the Emirates increasingly likely.

Wolves have shown interest in Ramsdale, especially with their current No.1, Jose Sa, linked to a potential transfer. The Molineux side is considering their options, and Ramsdale, along with Crystal Palace’s Sam Johnstone, has emerged as a top target.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s pursuit of a homegrown backup for Raya has led them to Bentley. The Gunners have made several offers for the 30-year-old shot-stopper, aiming to bolster their goalkeeping department with a reliable, domestic option.

The proposed swap deal, which includes Bentley plus cash, could satisfy both clubs’ needs, providing Ramsdale a new platform to showcase his skills while reinforcing Wolves’ goalkeeping ranks.

Ramsdale’s determination to find regular playing time is evident. Speaking to talkSPORT ahead of England’s Euro 2024 campaign, he expressed his frustration over limited appearances and his desire to remain active on the field.

“No footballer wants to not play,” Ramsdale remarked.

“I’ve had a tough year not playing, and I never want to do that again.”

As transfer talks progress, both Arsenal and Wolves hope to finalize a deal that benefits all parties involved.

For Ramsdale, this move could reignite his career, offering the first-team opportunities he craves while allowing Arsenal to secure a dependable backup in Bentley.
