AC Milan could face a difficult financial decision as Arsenal shows serious interest in their rising star, Davide Bartesaghi.

Arsenal’s Arteta Identifies Ideal Target in AC Milan’s Bartesaghi

The 19-year-old left-wing-back has emerged as a key figure for Milan this season, notably scoring a late brace to salvage a draw against Sassuolo.

Italian reporter Carlo Pellegatti has publicly expressed concern on Milan News, stating that English clubs, with Arsenal “above all,” are closely monitoring the Italy Under-21 international.

He fears the “strong temptation” for Milan to accept a lucrative offer, given that selling an academy graduate would represent pure profit on the club’s balance sheet—a significant factor for Financial Fair Play compliance.

For Arsenal, the interest appears tactically sound. Manager Mikel Arteta values defenders who are comfortable in possession and can move into midfield, a profile that fits Bartesaghi’s skillset.

The Gunners are maintaining a title push despite injury challenges, and sporting director Andrea Berta continues to plan for the future.

However, a move for another full-back may not be an immediate priority for Arsenal. The squad already features several options in that role, including Jurrien Timber, Ben White, and summer signing Riccardo Calafiori.

This could make a substantial transfer fee difficult to justify during the upcoming January window.

The situation presents a classic dilemma for AC Milan: capitalize on a valuable asset for major financial gain or retain a promising talent crucial to the team’s future.

As the winter transfer window approaches, the club must weigh the immediate economic benefit against the long-term sporting cost of losing a homegrown sensation.
