Arsenal Are Joined By Bayern Munich In The Race For Ajax Winger

According to sources that spoke to Football Insider, Arsenal is considering making a move for Kingsley Coman, a winger for Bayern Munich. At the Emirates Stadium, the 28-year-old has become a target as transfer managers try to bolster Mikel Arteta’s team this month. Following Bukayo Saka’s injury, Arsenal may make a move for Bayern star Coman during the January transfer window.

Following Saka’s operation, Football Insider reported on Monday, December 30, that the team has chosen to look into a move for another forward. After undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury sustained during the Gunners’ victory over Crystal Palace last month, the 23-year-old talisman will be out for months. Coman is presently sidelined due to an injury, despite having made 19 appearances across all competitions this season, including four goals and two assists.

Arsenal Could Move for Bayern £270,000-a-Week Forward

If Bayern Munich agrees to a loan exit, Arsenal may try to sign Coman, a winger, for the second half of the season. A loan agreement would be an affordable solution for Arsenal to acquire Saka cover, as it is known that they are having a “significant challenge” in the market to find decent value. Even though they would only be signing Coman on loan, if Bayern were ready to let him go, it would still be a big financial investment because he is apparently making about £270,000 per week at Bayern. Despite being at ease playing on the right, the 28-year-old has spent the majority of his career on the left side of attack.

Currently under contract in Munich until June 2027, the French winger is valued at £28 million by Football Transfers. Coman’s excellent dribbling ability, which actually sees him register more progressive carries per 90 than Saka, could give the Gunners’ attack an additional dimension considering the Frenchman has been successful with nearly half of his attempted take-ons during this large sample size, something Gabriel Martinelli has been widely criticized for no longer doing.
