The Scotsman has impressed Unai Emery’s scouting team for plenty of reasons and the Gunners were seriously hoping to sign him this summer. He collected 7 goals and 14 assists in 38 Premier League games this past campaign.
At a time when transfer money is scarce, Fraser was seen as a cheap option who could be highly effective in the Arsenal lineup. With their attacking lineup of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, the 25-year-old could have fit in perfectly on the wide areas.
However, the latest comments from Fraser will derail any hopes of the North London outfit landing him in the coming months. Fraser told the Daily Mirror, “The likelihood is I will be at Bournemouth for another year. And what will happen, will happen. That is all I can really say about it. No one has really spoken to me about it.”
Now, it seems like Unai Emery has to start looking from scratch at other viable options like Lorient prospect, Alexis Claude-Maurice or even integrating the academy products into the first team – Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, etc.
