Arteta has claimed that Saka will not miss the World Cup.
Arsenal faced a fresh injury concern as Bukayo Saka suffered a problem during the win over Nottingham Forrest at home. Meanwhile, he is not expected to be a long-term absentee, according to injury news journalist Ben Dinnery.
The Gunners continued their domination in Premier League with a 5-0 victory over Steve Cooper’s side on Sunday. They are at the top of the table now.
However, it cost an injury to the hosts. Having grabbed an early assist, with his cross being headed home by Gabriel Martinelli, Saka was forced off just 27 minutes into the game.
Arteta has claimed that Saka was ‘kicked a few times’ and he remains hopeful that the player will not miss the World Cup.
The England international will be hoping the injury is not going to hurt his chances in Qatar World Cup. England will start their campaign on November 21.
Dinnery understands that Saka suffered an impact injury after getting caught on the ankle during the win against Nottingham Forest.
Dinnery told GIVEMESPORT: “Typically, injuries can evolve over the first 24-48 hours. What we do know is it’s an impact injury. He took a couple of kicks early in the game on the ankle and lower leg.
“The fact that he was able to continue in a little bit of discomfort before being replaced suggests that, hopefully, it isn’t too serious and it is just more of a heavy knock or an impact injury.”
The Englishman has netted five goals and as many assists in 17 appearances for the Gunners this season across all competitions. He has been Arsenal’s fourth-best performer in the Premier League.
