According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are currently looking into the possibilities of signing Idrissa Gueye from Everton.
Paris Saint-Germain were known to be highly interested in the 29-year-old but now the report claims that Unai Emery along with Premier League champions, Manchester City are ready to offer the Ligue 1 giants some competition.
PSG have finalised the transfer of Leandro Paredes from Zenit St. Petersburg which could reduce their desires to acquire the Senegal international this very January. However, plenty of reports have also stated that Arsenal are close to acquiring Denis Suarez on loan.
The Spaniard is thought to be on a plane right now heading towards London to complete his medical and the official paperwork.
Unai Emery has already stated that the club does not have the funds to pursue permanent transfers right now. With Arsenal looking to bring in Ivan Perisic and Aissa Mandi as well, the rumours of a Gueye transfer certainly seems pointless.
The Spanish manager has already added, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to the deep midfield position in excess to having Mohamed El Neny and Granit Xhaka already. It is difficult to see how Gueye, who has a scary history of picking up injuries far too often, can fit into this current Arsenal setup.
The North London outfit needs to add outright defenders in the form of centre-backs and full-backs.
