According to the latest reports, Arsenal have ended their chase for Belgian winger, Yannick Carrasco but are hopeful of landing another target.
The 25-year-old had already notified Dalian Yifang that he wished to leave this summer but was hit back with criticism from his teammates and a penalty for his actions.
Carrasco took to social media to appeal to the Chinese Super League outfit, calling it “surprising” to see them react this way. He was hoping to move back to Europe after only a season in the Far East.
The winger had even agreed to take a pay cut for the sake of moving his family back to where they wanted. Unfortunately for Carrasco, Arsenal will no longer be able to provide him with that option.
The Gunners are already harbouring the massive wage bills of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Their transfer budget are limited to only £45m and defensive reinforcements are considered far more important that attacking ones.
Arsenal pressing for the transfer of Saint Etienne defender, William Saliba. The 18-year-old will reportedly cost Unai Emery’s side £20m but the Ligue 1 outfit are hesitating to let go of him immediately.
The chiefs of the French club are negotiating terms to keep Saliba on loan for one more season, before letting him walk next summer. This is troubling for Arsenal since they need defensive additions right now and not a whole season later.
