Arsenal have taken a significant step toward signing 21‑year‑old Spanish centre‑back Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia, following productive talks that suggest a breakthrough is near.

Cristhian Mosquera’s Path to Emirates Nears as Arsenal Resume Talks

Manager Mikel Arteta has earmarked Mosquera as a long‑term solution to bolster the club’s defensive depth.

With William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes firmly established, the plan is for Mosquera to provide reliable cover and competition at centre‑back.

A product of Valencia’s academy, Mosquera has already racked up an impressive 90 first‑team appearances at Mestalla, showcasing maturity beyond his years.

Arsenal’s opening bid of around £16 million (approximately €18–20 million) was politely turned down. Valencia is holding out for closer to €20 million, especially as Mosquera enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Now, the Gunners are preparing to return with a slightly improved offer to finally agree terms.

Mosquera is reportedly enthusiastic about making the jump to North London and has already aligned personal terms, smoothing the way for a potential transfer.

His experience at the recent U21 Euros gives him the tournament pedigree to transition seamlessly to the Premier League.

Arteta appears committed to blending youth and experience across the squad, with Mosquera regarded as the next rising star to join.

Valencia’s internal hierarchy—and key future decisions—are being reshaped ahead of CEO Ron Gourlay’s appointment in early July.

That change may influence Valencia’s stance on Mosquera, especially with other interested clubs like Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Bologna circling.

Arsenal remain confident. A revised offer could bridge the gap and bring Mosquera to the Emirates within weeks. Expect renewed negotiations very soon.
