Arsenal Edging Closer To Thomas Partey Deal

Arsenal’s tragic season ended with them finishing eighth in the Premier League standings and hence, making up £5.4 million in revenue.

During a time when funds are scarce, every penny saved will count for the Gunners. Improvements are necessary and Arsenal have some lofty ambitions this summer.

Mikel Arteta has already stressed on the importance of player signings several times over the past two weeks. While he has created a positive atmosphere around the Emirates and the fans, all of his hard work could got to waste without the right recruitment.

Dani Ceballos has really impressed during his loan spell from Real Madrid this season. There are talks of extending his deal by one more season with an option to buy. Otherwise, Thomas Partey remains their priority signing, prized at over £50 million in the market. Atletico Madrid will be hesitant to sell Partey but they might not have a choice if the midfielder refuses to extend his deal.

Stan Kroenke has promised an influx of cash to help pay off Arsenal’s debts but none of that will change their transfer budget. Fans are calling out for more support from the ownership during this transitional phase. If the Gunners fail to catch up to the Premier League giants such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, they could soon be too far gone in the title race.

Without European football, Arsenal’s revenue stream will take a further hit in the upcoming season. They still have a slim chance of qualifying for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday. Their league finish of eighth over tenth will definitely help them in transfer dealings over the summer.
