Arsenal enter the race with rivals Tottenham for £68m Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze

According to sources who spoke to TEAMtalk, Arsenal has been heartened by Eberechi Eze’s response to their offer; nonetheless, Tottenham Hotspur continues to pose a serious threat to the Gunners’ pursuit of the Crystal Palace winger.

One of the Premier League’s top attacking midfielders, Eze has grown into a highly dangerous player while playing for Palace. Since moving to Selhurst Park in 2020, the 26-year-old England international has made 167 appearances for the Eagles, tallying 40 goals and 28 assists.

According to Fraser Fletcher, TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Manchester United and Newcastle United expressed interest in Eze on May 13. Eze’s Palace deal includes a £68 million release clause, according to sources who spoke to TEAMtalk.

Palace is willing to take payments in installments, but they require a minimum of £45 million up front. Fraser Fletcher, the transfer correspondent for TEAMtalk, has been told by sources that Arsenal has expressed interest in Eze.

Arsenal hold Eberechi Eze transfer talks

According to the Sun, discussions have already taken place between Andrea Berta and Eze’s delegates. Eze, who has a £68 million buyout clause in his Eagles deal, is reportedly of great interest to Arsenal.

Eze is a less expensive option than Rodrygo, a Brazilian forward for Real Madrid, whom the Gunners have also been after this summer, considering he would be available for that amount. Tottenham is certain to lose out on signing Mbeumo, so Arsenal’s interest will be a further setback.

The Cameroon star was eager to accompany Thomas Frank from Brentford to north London. However, Mbeumo has always preferred to join Manchester United, and a deal is reportedly near. With Martin Zubimendi already all but a Gunners player after agreeing to leave Real Sociedad, Arsenal is currently engaged in a number of agreements.

After Arsenal struck a deal with their London neighbors for the Dane on Wednesday, Christian Norgaard, the captain of Brentford, is scheduled to have a physical. Kepa Arrizabalaga is also expected to join them from Chelsea.
