Arsenal eye Brazilian star youngster Reinier Jesus as Aubameyang replacement

Arsenal have reportedly targeted 17-year-old Flamengo striker Reinier Jesus as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of next summer.

Reports have suggested that Aubameyang, the club’s top scorer this season, was considering an exit from the Emirates amid the club’s continued struggles under Unai Emery. The Sun is now reporting that the Gunners are looking to plan for a future without without Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Fears of the Gabonese forward leaving increased last month following the player’s decision to talks with the North London club. According to the report, Arsenal are monitoring the Brazilian starlet ahead of potentially losing Aubameyang in the summer transfer window.

Reinier has impressed Arsenal scouts with his performances for the Brazilian league leaders this term, netting four goals in 12 appearances. Arsenal can expect to face competition from a handful of sides who have also been scouting Reinier. The Brazilian forward is also being linked with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Everton.
