Arsenal want to bring back former player, Donyell Malen this summer.
Le10Sport claims that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s uncertain future has provoked Arsenal to look into the Dutch forward.
He is enjoying a breakout season back in his home country with PSV Eindhoven. Arsenal sold him for less than £1m and now, he has 28 goals and 14 assists in 71 appearances for the Eredevisie outfit.
AC Milan are targetting Malen as well whose reported value is said to be €56m. His value has shot up after signing a new deal and due to his performances this season. Too bad, Arsenal don’t have a buy-back clause on the 21-year-old – a clear oversight by the North Londoners.
Malen is so good that he could potentially even break into Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands squad for the 2020 Euros. If anything, Arsenal will find even harder to sign after the summer tournament.
Mikel Arteta expressed some optimism in keeping Aubameyang but nothing can be said for certain. The Gabon international knows how valuable he is to the club and is bound to make worldly demands over his contract extension. If not, there are several other European outfit who could sweep him up on a more lucrative deal.
The Gunners need to prepare for such a scenario since they are also struggling to qualify for European football next season.
