Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin might be ruled out of action for almost nine months due to the hamstring injury that the right-back picked up in the last match against Chelsea. The Spaniard looked in sublime touch against the Blues as he initiated a number of attacks and delivered a few good balls in the opposition box, one of which saw Alexandre Lacazette notch up the opening goal with a brilliant finish.

His injury could not have come at a worse time for the Gunners as they are looking to claw their way back into the top four and are in need of all their first team players to be fit.

The north London club is afraid that the player has torn the anterior cruciate ligament of his knee. He looked to be in unbearable pain and went to the ground immediately after the incident happened.

The Gunners are set to take on Manchester United in their FA Cup fourth-round matchup and manager Unai Emery has hinted that young Ainsley Maitland Niles could be the one to replace the Spanish right back in the lineup for the crucial clash.

Speaking to the media about the injury sustained by Bellerin and the possible options he has at his disposal to replace him, the Arsenal manager said, “We have Ainsley. He played well and can help us. Also Lichtsteiner is another player who can play there. We have the players.”

He added, “Don’t forget Jenkinson who has played some matches and can be used if we need him.”
