Arsenal are likely to face stiff competition from a Chinese Super League side for Barcelona flop, Malcom.
The 21-year-old to failed to make any impact with the La Liga giants since making his £36.8m switch from Bordeaux last summer. The player has grown frustrated with just 296 minutes of playing time received this term and might not be opposed to a move away from Camp Nou.
The latest report from AS claims that a Chinese club has offered £58m for the Brazilian. Tracking back to reports from October, the Gunners did contact Barcelona about Malcom but talks never finalised.
With the January window rolling up, Unai Emery keenly looking into the transfer market for additions into the wing position. AS Roma’s Cengiz Under and 22-year-old Argentine, Cristian Pavon are already in the club’s radar.
Malcom understandably will be a more expensive option due to his high profile affiliations and distinct interests from the Far East. He was a star performer in the Ligue 1 last season, scoring 12 and laying out 8 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Now he is way behind Lionel Messi, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele in the Barca pecking order. Ernesto Valverde has even chosen to go with Rafinha in the wings instead of Malcom this season.
The 21-year-old has high ambitions of making it into the Brazil senior squad and for that might have to prove his worth in Europe alone. He should strongly consider his chances in the Premier League, especially in an Arsenal squad with no competition in his particular position.
