Odsonne Edouard is on Arsenal’s shortlist for the summer.
Reports claim that Leicester City are also gunning for his signature as the season draws into a close.
Edouard has impressed at Celtic scoring 20 goals in 35 appearances this season. He also laid out 5 assists with consistent number throughout his career in Glasgow. His contract is due to end in another year which means a sale is impending.
Arsenal could secure his services for as much as £15m-£20m. Mikel Arteta clearly needs reinforcements for next season and the club is still backing him fully. Alexandre Lacazette’s future is currently uncertain which would demand a need for a replacement. Eddie Nketiah is no longer favoured by the manager and in a similar boat regarding his contract as Lacazette.
If both are sold off, Arsenal will have the funds necessary to bring in a new face. Edouard is 23 now and ready to take the next step in his career. He is athletic, technically adept and has a keen scoring eye. He is still developing his finishing abilities with 15 caps to his name for the France U21 side.
Arsenal are in a fickle position regarding their star forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon international is expected to be their leading man up front but has mostly been poor this season. His best position is still considered at centre-forward.
