Arsenal Top Scorer This Season 2018-19 In All Competitions

Legendary Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit has said that he quit the team “for a woman” and that, even after 24 years, he still feels bad about his choice. From 1997 to 2000, Petit had three great seasons with Arsenal, helping the Gunners win the FA Cup trophy in 1998 and the Premier League title. However, the 54-year-old Frenchman wishes he could go back in time and prevent himself from joining Barcelona in 2000 and instead stayed in north London.

Petit told Stadium Astro that his off-field romantic life had an influence on his decision to leave Arsenal for Barcelona, saying, ” for a woman. “Madrid and Barcelona, two of the biggest clubs in the world, have always been my favourites. But I really ought to have stayed at Arsenal. You know, there are instances when there isn’t a better deal elsewhere. It’s preferable to remain where you are when you’re successful, happy, and loved.

When Petit left Barcelona for Chelsea, their London rivals, after a short time, his relationship with Arsenal supporters suffered. Due to problems following knee surgery, he hung up his boots after three seasons at Stamford Bridge. When asked why he left Arsenal, however, Petit responded to Stadium Astro, “For a woman.”

As Paul Pogba prepares to make his eagerly anticipated comeback from a doping ban following the termination of his Juventus contract, Petit would also want to see Arsenal take a chance on him. Petit continued, “I did say that Paul Pogba would be a good option for Arsenal, but it’s a gamble.” He wants to demonstrate that he has more work to do. It was a disaster for him off the field throughout the previous two or three seasons.
