Rumours of Barcelona being interested has been gratifying for Arsenal striker, Alexandre Lacazette.
Plenty of tabloids have posted on the Blaugrana’s apparent desire to sign the Frenchman this summer. Previously it was Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and now they have picked the 27-year-old to succeed into Luis Suarez’s spot.
Barcelona are about to give up on their chase for Antoine Greizmann as well which would force them to look for alternate options. Lionel Messi is less than pleased to get knocked out of the Champions League in such embarrassing fashion to Liverpool last month.
The La Liga champions is expected to bolster the club ranks by sanctioning huge deals. An opening bid for Lacazette was reported to be worth around £70m with the striker’s contract set to run till June 2022.
When asked about the links to the Catalan outfit, the Gunners forward said, “It’s flattering.”
He joined Arsenal for £52.7m in the summer of 2017 and has recorded 19 goals and 13 assists this season. The former Lyon player has been a regular at club level but has still only managed only 5 starts for the France national team in the past 5 years.
“I’ve been playing well for a while,” he added. “The coach has said he has his group. I’m working on my side and I’m waiting for my time if it comes.”
