The manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, has made it clear that he supports Havertz. “I’ll tell you how I really feel about him: I love him… In a news conference prior to Manchester United, Arteta remarked, “His work rate is excellent. Arteta’s appeal for fan support reflects his conviction that positive energy attracts talents like Havertz. As the German national team congregates at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel for an eight-day camp the following week, all eyes will be on Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg is no stranger to the German national team; the city has hosted a number of their games, most notably a 9-0 triumph over Lichtenstein in 2021. However, this upcoming game carries more significance because Germany is looking to exact revenge for their disastrous World Cup loss to Japan in Qatar. Due in large part to a strategic alliance between the DFB and Volkswagen, the city’s largest employer in the auto industry, the German team’s arrival in Wolfsburg.
In exchange for this arrangement, Volkswagen reportedly pays the DFB €30 million every year. After the players arrive at the camp on Monday, Hansi Flick’s schedule will be dominated by training sessions and press appearances. After playing Japan on September 9 in Wolfsburg, the German team will travel to Dortmund for a crucial match against France on September 12.
