Arsenal given huge boost in their plot to snatch Willian from Chelsea

Arsenal are reportedly in the race to sign Willian and have now been given a huge boost by the player.

Willian is currently under contract at Chelsea which expires at the end of the current season. However, the 31 year old speedster has not yet come close to a new contract with the Blues which has seen a host of clubs develop interest in his signature.

The Brazilian winger is still at the prime of his game and can decide matches with some special moments of magic. He has reportedly garnered the interest of no less than 6 clubs – Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

Willian coming on as a free agent is an ideal situation and hence Arsenal’s desire to sign him can be understood. It is now believed that the Gunners have been handed a huge boost in their chase for the player from the winger’s representative.

Willian is extremely keen on staying back in London even if he has to leave Chelsea and has therefore more or less ruled out moves to France, Italy or Spain. 

This has seen Spurs and Arsenal take the hotseat. However, Tottenham already have a host of wingers, 3 signed in the last two windows and hence will be unlikely to take on Willian, whose wage will not be easy to handle. 

Hence, it would seem that only Arsenal remain in the race to take home the winger and he would indeed a valuable addition of a new dimension to an attack that already has so much pace and trickery to it.
