Raya started his club career with Blackburn Rovers after spending time in the youth team. On 6 July 2019, he was signed by Brentford for a fee in the region of £3 million. He established himself as the club’s first-choice keeper in the first few months of the 2019–20 season.

Raya completed a season-long move to Arsenal last summer from Brentford and played second fiddle to first-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. But the Spaniard started four of the last five games, including their Champions League opener and the North London derby.

Although Ramsdale is waiting in the wings, Mikel Arteta is yet to confirm publicly who is Arsenal’s No.1 goalkeeper. During the season 2023/24, he remained the first-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal. He made maximum appearances for the club in both domestic and European competitions. Ahead of the season 2024/25, Raya was signed on a permanent contract.

Behind Raya, Arsenal has brought in Neto from AFC Bournemouth as the backup goalkeeper. At 35, the Brazilian is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in top-flight football. While his role will primarily be as a deputy to Raya, Neto’s vast experience is invaluable.

Known for his steady presence in goal and his solid performances in the Premier League, Neto provides Arsenal with depth and reliability should Raya suffer any injury or dip in form.

Neto’s experience also offers him a unique advantage in situations requiring composure and leadership. While he may not feature regularly in the starting XI, his contributions in training, cup competitions, and as a mentor to younger players will be crucial.

Given his experience in high-pressure situations, he will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the squad as the season progresses.

The promising young goalkeeper joined the Arsenal youth academy from Estonian club Nomme United in 2018. He has played 33 games for the Gunners’ U21 side and kept five clean sheets in the process. Hein is currently Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper behind Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya.

The young goalkeeper made only one appearance for the senior side and went out on loan for several months to Reading last season. The 21-year-old definitely needs a move away from the North London club to gain some valuable senior experience.
