Raya completed a season-long move to Arsenal last summer from Brentford and played second fiddle to first-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. But the Spaniard started four of the last five games, including their Champions League opener and the North London derby.
Although Ramsdale is waiting in the wings, Mikel Arteta is yet to confirm publicly who is Arsenal’s No.1 goalkeeper. During the season 2023/24, he remained the first-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal. He made maximum appearances for the club in both domestic and European competitions. Ahead of the season 2024/25, Raya was signed on a permanent contract.

Known for his steady presence in goal and his solid performances in the Premier League, Neto provides Arsenal with depth and reliability should Raya suffer any injury or dip in form.
Neto’s experience also offers him a unique advantage in situations requiring composure and leadership. While he may not feature regularly in the starting XI, his contributions in training, cup competitions, and as a mentor to younger players will be crucial.
Given his experience in high-pressure situations, he will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the squad as the season progresses.
