Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale denies exit reports

Ramsdale has taken to social media to seemingly laugh off the suggestion that he has reached an agreement with Newcastle.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has dismissed speculation that he has already agreed a deal to join Newcastle this summer. The England international is not getting regular time at Etihad.

Ramsdale was Arteta’s first-choice goalkeeper in North London before David Raya arrived on loan from Brentford last summer. He established himself as Arsenal’s first-choice option.

Ramsdale has featured in just 11 competitive matches this season. Even though Arsenal are planning to offer David Raya a permanent deal. Ramsdale is widely expected to leave the club in a bid to gain regular playing time.

As per the fresh report, Ramsdale had already agreed on a move to sign for Newcastle ahead of the 2024-25 season. Newcastle were on the verge of adding Ramsdale to their current goalkeeping options.

Arsenal shot-stopper has taken to social media to seemingly laugh off the suggestion that he has reached an agreement with the Magpies. The 26-year-old wrote: “News to me [laughing emjoji]”.

Ramsdale is still expected to leave the Gunners to find another club that will offer him the opportunity to be the number-one goalkeeper. He has been linked with Chelsea, Wolves, Bayern Munich and AC Milan.

Ramsdale’s contract will expire in the summer of 2026. The North London club are expected to demand a £60m fee to part ways with the Englishman. Ramsdale will be on the bench when Arsenal face Everton in Sunday’s crucial clash at the Emirates.
